Dr. Jessica A. Marcus

Dr. Jessica Marcus has been a nurse and a nurse practitioner in the field of Women's Health during the last 21 years. In 2013 she started her career as a nurse educator and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at Georgia State University. After obtaining her DNP degree she focused her research on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) and cultural diversity and competence. To increase her own skills as a nurse educator she developed a Faculty Development Program at Georgia State which led to being awarded the Teaching Excellence Award. Dr. Marcus was also the recipient of the Innovation in Teaching Award from the Georgia Association of Nurse Educators for implementing virtual remote interpretation into simulation for nursing students. Using her experience and competency as a certified nurse educator, she leads engaging, innovative classes that meet the highest standards of nursing education.
